This is the one indispensable tool you need in your home for the battle against fleas if you have carpet. All employees of The Healthy Pet use and swear by this product, it is safe and it works!
A fine Boric Acid powder, FleaGo sifts down into carpet and behind couch cushions to dehydrate fleas in their hiding places. Best of all, it keeps working for a year! Because this powder works by dehydrating, it can cause irritation to the skin, eyes, and lungs so keep your pets out of the room as you are applying it so that they don't get between the shaker and the carpet!
Tried and true method of use from The Healthy Pet employees:
Vacuum carpet thoroughly, clear all small items/furniture off the floor. Do not bother with moving heavy furniture. The vacuuming helps to pull the carpet pile up straight so that the powder will sift down to the base easily. Holding the shaker a few feet from the floor, lightly dust the carpet with FleaGo. Only a small amount is needed, if you can see the powder on the surface of the carpet you are using too much! Once the powder is applied, walk back through with a broom to gently brush any powder on the surface down into the carpet fibers. Be sure to sweep up or vacuum any powder on hardwood surfaces or linoleum, it will make the floor very slippery. Leave down for at least 5 days before vacuuming, 7-10 days is optimal. During this time we haven't noticed irritation from walking barefoot on the carpet, but if you or your pets will be spending a lot of time down on the floor it may be advisable to put down a blanket first. Once you have vacuumed, any excess powder will be removed and no more precautions will be necessary. Repeat after one year!
Having FleaGo in your carpet will break the cycle of fleas in your home, any eggs that are in the carpet will hatch in to larvae that will dehydrate before they reach adulthood, and any pupae (cocoon-like stage) that hatch out into fleas will dehydrate within a few days. This means you may see one hatch phase after applying FleaGo, but after that they will never pass the larvae stage! This is so much more effective than flea bombs or sprays that only kill fleas or larvae for the few hours that they are working in your house, plus you and your pets aren't exposed to those dangerous chemicals!
