Our "Guillotine style" dog nail trimmers require that the dog's nail be inserted through a hole in the top of the trimmer. As the handles are squeezed together the blade comes down and cuts through the nail. Pet guardians who choose these trimmers appreciate their ability to shave off thin slices of nail at a time to slowly reach the desired nail length, while watching for the vein inside the nail (or "quick").
