Our "Plier style" dog nail trimmers work similar to pruning shears. The two notched blades surround and cut through the nail as the handles are squeezed together. Some people like this style because they can see exactly where the blade will cut through the nail. These trimmers come with a ""safety stop"" that limits the amount of nail that can be cut at a time, a great feature for pet guardians who are just learning to trim nails or whose dogs have dark nails that hide the vein (or ""quick"") inside.
