Even the most experienced nail trimmers can make mistakes, and for that reason it is a good idea to keep some of this styptic powder around when trimming your pet's nails. When too much of the nail is taken off and the vein inside is cut, pour some of this powder into a small cup (the cap off the bottle works well for this) and press your pet's nail into the powder for a minute or two. This will speed clotting and stop the bleeding. Repeat as necessary. And don't worry, we still love you!
